The compiler is the same. It is the runtime library (or libraries) that
are different, most notably "libcpml" which has a "pre-ev6" and "ev6 and
later" version. If you use any of the Extended Math Library stuff
(libcxml), that also has two versions. The compilers produce
architecture oriented or specific code via the "-tune" and/or "-arch"
compiler switches.
