	Maybe VGA16 might work, the chip is actually a cirrus one.

	In my AS 1000 5/300 (EV5) a matrox millenium II was fine (and
much speedier than the elsa gloria synergy which replaced it. But SRM
support for the ELSA might not be there for EV45.) If you plug in a
graphics card be sure to use the appropriate jumper to disable the
on-board graphic.
