Sound jitter on XP1000

Hello everybody with a XP1000,
Is there a way to avoid that annoying sound jitter when using the IDE
interface (i.e., the CDROM or an IDE HDD)? Moreover, the floppy drive seems
to be locked during sound file replays (2.4.17 kernel), so I guess the
problem is within the cy82c693 driver.. How can I fix that?
