Funny you should mention that: I had the same problem on my ELSA GLoria
Synergy II on my alpha--RedHat 7.0.

Finally, I got crap all over the screen, even in the console, on BIOS,
&c.  Now, I have an ATI Mach64, and I don't have the problems on boot
(well, actually, an intermittent problem on boot), or in console, but I
can't get Xconfigurator to do crap for me.

Little help?
