Original PC164, ie not PC164-LX (aka LX or LX164) and not PC164-SX
(aka SX or SX164), is a more difficult platform to support under
XFree86. In addition, the BIOS emulation in its SRM console is not
recent enough to work with some popular cards, among which are Rage128
and Radeon, which seem to work fine in an LX or SX.
And yes, 4.2.0 is better in many ways than the earlier 4.1.0 or 4.0.3.
Glad to hear you've had good luck with it.
