Since you're in Oz, why not have a look around for Tekram or Advansys 
cards?  There's a couple on ebay.com.au and sold.com.au.  The Tekrams below 
the U3W spec are all well supported and Alphas can boot from them.  I have 
a couple, and they are fine in all my Alphas.
