Ruffian without floppy drive

I'm trying to install Linux on my RPX164-2 with firmware version 1.3.058.
(Not an AlphaPC164UX, so the locations of several jumpers are different)
But it cannot detect my floppy drive, which is working on other machines.
I'v switched several working floppy drives and adjusting NVRAM entries in
ARCSBIOS but that doesn't help.

Is there any means to install Linux on Ruffian without floppy drive or
tips to get the floppy drive detected?
