The procedure is correct but not all milos are created equal.
Recently I had to deal with one UX and 2.2-18 from
http://www.suse.de/~stepan/binaries/
was not booting that machine at all.  2.2-17 from the same location
did work but it was refusing to load anything from a floppy (which
is not your concern :-) although CD and hard disk handling were fine.
Some other one which I tried had some other quirks. 'milo' name
is hardwired into its loader so having few of these at the same time
to try that or another unfortunately is not feasible.
