RE: X configuration on miata

I had similar problem on an Alpha DS20E.  

Did you upgrade X yet. If not update X with the files from this 
site from redhat  and  reconfigure X. 7.2 seem to have had 
a lot of problems. 

I found that you can avoid a lot of problems by doing 
an upgrad install of 7.3.
