upgrading to XFree86-4.3.0 (RH 7.2 on 164SX)

Hi folks:

I'd like to upgrade to XFree86-4.3.0.  I considered compiling from sources,
but then found that binaries for alpha are available at
http://mirrors.mix5.com/xfree86/4.3.0/binaries/Linux-axp-glibc22/ (and other
mirrors).

Can I use this binary to upgrade to 4.3.0?  Or will it only work with
glibc-2.2.x (right now I have glibc-2.2.4-32.1, but I plan to compile
glibc-2.3.2)?
