rtc problem

Hello! I have problem with rtc; /dev/rtc does not enabled. I see it has not IRQ, so I manually define RTC_IRQ to 8 in drivers/char/rtc.c After booting I see that the IRQ cannot be assigned for rtc, IRQ 8 is busy. What is the workaround for it?
