Were any of the PowerStorm cards ever supported in any environment other than Tru64 (and I assume VMS)?

Their history has always been more than slightly murky.

PowerStorm was a "marketing" name applied to many very different cards. Some have Linux support, some don't. The ones that come to mind that do are the PowerStorm 3D30 (2 MB 8 plane) and 4D20 (16 MB, 24 plane); i.e. the TGA2 cards, both thanks to Jay I might add. Also, the PowerStorm 4D10 which was a Permedia 2 card. The rest do not have any Linux support.

I never figured out if the proprietary issues was really with E&S or with Dec/Compaq.

E&S. Try and find x86 drivers for them. I dare ya! :-)

At this point in time the PowerStorm cards are what, 10 years old? (They were DEC cards originally.)

Depends which one you are talking about. The TGA2s are about 8 years old or so.

E&S does have Linux drivers for newer cards in their REALImage series. I assume that
they are Intel binares, however.

But do they have RealImage 2100 drivers? I've never seen any.
