glibc and other packages

Hi

I noticed it is rather hard to find packages for alpha build's I am
looking for glibc 2.3.5  - looks like I have to get src and build it
myself....  Which I don't mind doing but - it is going to take me
forever - learning new things again and .....

Where does every one else go for there rpms or packages ?????
