Note that Peter's comments are NOT re: AlphaCore 1.0 on and AS2100, as
his machine is an AS800/AlphaServer 3305 box.

He's dead on WRT the S3/Virge card, as those have been problematic in
the past, and seem even more so with the latest X servers (inc. Xorg).

I've just had the chance to try AC-1.0 on an AS2100A (younger but
bigger brother to the AS2100 :-), and sad to say, didn't have any
luck... :-(

Something is definitely broken WRT the SCSI drivers in particular, as
I tried both NCR 810 & 875 with the sym53c8xx driver, as well as a
QLogic 1040B with the qla1280 driver, and nothing worked.
