Hi all, I'm trying to convert one of my 164LX machines back from FreeBSD-6.3R (without X!) to the F8-based linux distro, but it's stuck! # Many years ago it was running with Stataboware and then # Kondara MNU/Linux. With a CD-R on which Fedora-20080404-alpha-CD.iso is burned, the installer starts flawlessly both in GUI (0) and text (2) modes. But after displaying the "transferring image to hard drive" it did nothing: in GUI mode, a mouse pointer can be moved. Booting in rescue (3) mode and looked into the filesystems just created (by deleting old data), both "install.log" and "install.log.syslog" contain nothing. By trying to boot the system in rescue mode with a NIC, it hung. # By the way, the NIC are recognized by FreeBSD-6.3R as # "xl0: <3Com 3c905B-TX Fast Etherlink XL>" and was working # w/o problems. It also functioned well on Stataboware # as well as Kondara. Then I've tried to start the installer without using the NIC: It went beyond the "transferring image to hard drive" in GUI (0) as well as text (2) mode, but the installation process stopped with exceptions, in GUI mode after installing several packages, in text mode after about 300 packages. To me the two exceptions seem to be caused by the same problem... (Two anacdump.txt files were gziped and attached to this mail) Could someone help me?
