With my other IDE DVD Drive (NEC ND-2500A), I couldn't boot from any of
the CDs, this time anaconda crashed with an even different error right
after the CD check dialog box.

Don't you think that this behavior could be caused by a buggy IDE
driver? Btw, is it possible to netinstall alphadora?
