Minifridge

says DAC960PTL. Has one of those little bitty external connectors I don't have any cables for. (of course the big Compaq has two...*sigh*) According to the bios the mylex only supports 2 and 4 gig drives. Most of my drives are 9 gig.

Does anyone know of an SFTP client for palm? I've been unable to get to my html without SFTP. I have a little SSH client, but vi is very difficult to use with it. All my internet usage has been Via a Palm Centro for some months. Proves difficult sometimes.

Whatever happened to Alliance Semiconductor's license to manufacture the Alpha? Did they ever go anywhere with that? I've never had a chance to fool with military hardware. Sounds like it'd be pretty cool. I've only got a few intel boxen I really use. Harvey and PsyOps... And If I can ever get it together, DeathToll. Unfortunately the processor is a fairly new type, which means I've been unable to scrap-score a cooler for it. Both my Intel laptops are marginally functional, and I'm considering ditching OpenBSD on the SparcBook because network connection via PCMCIA locks the machine. Most of my other hardware is all SPARC, Alpha, SGI, and I've got a PA-RISC box and one VAX since my 4100 got stolen. Never even got to boot it.... *sigh*

I'd be completely happy to be shot of intel, but I've had a lot of trouble getting everything I use to run under SPARC or Alpha. Like my TV card...
or my video card... Emulators, video playback, and other stuff... 'course I can't get TV 100% on intel with the latest kernels, nor have I been able to figure out how to get the TV out to work at all off my card, or how to properly setup the dual head functionality in X.

What I really need is a scan convertor so I can feed my video to the 60" Hitachi I got for $150 on craigslist, so I don't have to be right up on my monitor to see it. (I'm *REALLY* nearsighted)

heviarti: A Mylex DAC960? If it's a non-Ultra (a DAC960PD, not -PDU), it will boot in a PC164 in SRM5.5-1 (that's on my list of updates for your Howto I was going to send once I finished). Are you talking about the 2GB vs. 8GB thing, or actual drive sizes?
I just got a bunch of half-can 500MHz (50MHz really) PC164 crystals on eBay. I was going to send you a couple anyway....

alphamike: The PC164 (non-LX/SX) only goes to 5.5-1.

Does anybody need it, or have something that might be useful to me to trade for it? If I need a RAID controller I have some kind of gigantic Compaq thing that has at least two channels. I also have an adaptec 3940 in my PC164. (three channels of 50 pin in one slot.) As soon as I can get that machine into a real rackmount case, I need to see about a Magma chassis. Has anyone tried one of these on an Alpha?
