Yes with Emacs speek and a dec talk express you could use linux alone but
right now no one has got it to work with a double talk external.

As for the question about windows 95 dos and linux running It works fine
if you get a good boot strap program you can run all the OS you want to.
The only problem you will run into with windows 95 is the two softwares
ASAW and JAWS2 are still a bit shaky but the coders for them constantly
update them so I figure in about 6 months or so (about when windows 97
comes out)  windows 95 will be stable enough with speech then we will have
to deal with the shaky windows 97 if we update to it till they make sure
their software runs on the changes billy makes to the os.
