Redhat 6 Configuration

Hi:

I have RH 6 up and working on two computers now. Well, it's sort of
working. I need to do some configuration to make it work the way I need
it. So, here's my question:

Can I use Linuxconf reliably with Emacspeak? Will I be able to use it
reliably when I get Speak Up compiled into my kernel? Or should I edit the
various files by hand, or from a command line?

The Redhat docs advise entirely in terms of Linuxconf, and it seems it
should work since it's char based. But I've had enough trouble getting to
this point, so would appreciate a boost here.
