Re: Redhat 6 Configuration

Hi, Janina!
Yes, Linuxconf isn't bad indeed. It is a bit techy, but you can get it
working. Could you please send me your /etc/conf.linuxconf file? Meanwhile,
try accessing linuxconf through Lynx on port 98.

lynx localhost:98

In terms of Speakup and Linuxconf, I doubt you will have a success.
Emacspeak by itself will not handle Linuxconf, you then have to use W3 from
Emacs. Apparently, Emacs/W3 has some problems with non-standard URls, such
that include equal signs or ampersands. Linuxconf is an application that
uses a lot of these. So, most of Linuxconf pages will not retrieve in W3. I
sent a message to W3 people and want to see what they say. Their discussion
list archive didn't help at all, at least not with this question.
The only alternative you have is to try a new shell Screen reader, written
by Michael Gorse, called Yasr. Visit Mike's page at:
http://www.wpi.edu/~mgorse/

It currently supports DEC-talk Express, Speakout, BNS and DoubleTalk LT.
Keep in mind that even though Yasr is already quite usable, it is still in
Alpha stage and so, various things might hapen. I doubt it though.
Regards,
Victor
