Good question. You could either install rpm on your system (it is
available as a tarball), but the binaries are built against libc6, so
you'd need to rebuild the source rpm package.
Or you could do it the slackware way and get all the individual components
and build them.
Here is what you need:
lynx2.8.1rel.2.tar.gz (http://lynx.browser.org)
SSLeay 0.9.0b or OpenSSL (ftp://ftp.replay.com)
lynx-281-ssl.patch (http://www.moxienet.com/lynx)
This is what I used to build the rpm packages, although I haven't uploaded
the OpenSSL version built for glibc2.1 yet.
