Re: running mbrola



I haven't used this package.  But be aware that, on Unix, the 16-bit words
which make up sound are represented low order byte first, while on Intel
they are usually high byte first.  You get an awful sound if you start a
conversion to the 8-bit AU format under the wrong byte ordering
assumptions.  I don't know what the conventions are under Linux 16-bit audio.
