This bit of information should be on target for the purpose of
the list since the idea is to spread information that helps Linux
users who are blind.
One good UNIX shortcut is the use of the ` symbol which, on
most keyboards is the key to the left of the 1 on the top row.
In case I am not the last person on Earth to think of this,
here is what to do with url's and paths rather than trying to retype
or remember them.
Do whatever you need to do to turn the email message in to
a text file we shall call urlname. Edit the file and remove every
thing but the url you wanted.
From your shell prompt, type
lynx `cat urlname`
and the shell will see those ` marks and cat urlname and stick it
neatly in to the input string which goes to lynx. The longer the url,
the sweeter this shortcut.
Some of the other shells have even better command editing
tools in them which let you only have to type a long path or url once
and then reuse it for at least as long as you remain logged in.
