I would do some reading before attempting to install Linux with or
without sighted help. You might start at the Linux documentation home
page and work from there. Speakup will support the Dec Talk Express
fairly soon, but I cannot give a specific date -- otherwise the
install will have to be with some help. Also, you should partition
your drive using partition magic v4.1 (this can be done without help,
if done carefully, but the most important is to know something about
how things work before you install anything.
