There seems a risk of an emacspeak vs "other things" flame war
breaking out here.  This is plainly silly.  I could waste a lot of
brain cycles convincing myself of the merits of either a kernel-based
speech solution or one implemented at a higher level such as
emacspeak.  The argument seems a bit like thinking that because one
has a bed one can't have a refrigerator.  There just isn't (or
shouldn't be) an either/or here.  Relax, use 'em both.
