problem with DoubleTalk and emacspeak

Hi all

I posted this to the emacspeak list a few days ago and got no response, so
here goes.

I got a doubletalk PC a few days ago and can't get it to work properly
under emacspeak. There's nothing wrong with this doubletalk, it works fine
with speakup.
The problem is that the dtpc doesn't speak after a tone command. Another
more serious problem is that it only speaks part of what it's supposed
to. For example, I read a line and it speaks the first few words and stops
dead. The same holds true for any other units of reading. I suspect that a
carriage return (necessary for doubletalk to speak whatever its got in its
buffer) is not being sent as sometimes after it reads the first few words,
and I hit another key, it speaks a little more of whatever was in that
other text unit. It also switches to all punctuation mode when a new
buffer is opened, this should not be happening.

This is emacspeak 11.0, doubletalk pc 5.80 at its default IO address, and
emacspeak-ss 1.5.
Anyone have any idea what is happening and more importantly, how to fix
it?
