Re: Adding a bleep - How do I?



Two points on that:

(1) If you wanted to read the fortune and other such messages, you could
place the clear command at the begining of the .profile file.

(2) I think the person wanted a clear screen *before* login, such as
redhat does, in order to know when the prompt is on the screen.
Your solution would not do that.
