Gotta agree with Luke here. While I haven't configured Lilo with a beep, I
know it *can* be done. Further, how more accessible do you need than typing
dos or linux? You can't well confuse the two, and if you really want to
have something else, you can change that in lilo.conf easily enough. My
system, which I built, boots, lilo comes up, I type dos or linux, and it
boots. No problem. I fail to see the access problem in that regard. Much
easier than trying to remember what the last selected option was and
arrowing to the correct one...just have to remember what you named the boot
options. I may, at some point, configure Lilo to beep (and in fact, would
like to do so...just have to read the docs to figure how), but by virtue of
the fact that I have not, I'd say that it's really not that huge a deal.
Your computer doesn't do anything for a while, OK, type dos or linux.
That's not really very hard, not even for someone who is lexiconically
challenged. If that's even a word. Incomplete information? That isn't a far
stretch to make.
