Someone once told me that it would not be too hard to build a custom Lilo
that made a beep everytime a letter is printed. From what he explained,
Lilo runs a series of checks before it presents the boot prompt, and for
every check it prints a letter, aka l, i, l and o. So what this person
was suggestiong that something could be coded in so that it beeps every
time a letter is printed, so that if there was a problem you'd know about
it, if it didn't make four beeps all is not well.
