SV: Searching files through blinux-list?

I tried to stay out of this thread, but i can't any longer. If we're not
allowed to ask for help or files from a list, then what's the point of
having a list at all? I'm certain that everyone knows what a nightmare it
actually can be to search for a file using a search engine. Under Windows,
there are meta search tools that can help searching but do programs like
this exist under Linux? If not, then it can be a real pain to find what
you're looking for, especially if you don't exactly know what the name of
the file is. Lastly at the risk of being flamed, i'd like to make a humble
suggestion, if you don't want newbies with their questions on this list, why
don't someone start a linuxnewbies list dedicated to blind linux newbies?
