This is an excellent FAQ, very clear and well written. One question that
could be added corresponds to the list of supported speech synthesizers:
which braille displays are supported?

BrlTTY supports (I hope this is right) TSI Navigator and Powerbraille,
the Alva ABT series, Tieman Combibraille, Eurobraille (which models?) and
Papenmeier displays. There is also a braille display program specifically
for the Alva (unfortunately I can't remember the URL but it should be easy
to find).

I think BrlTTY also supports the Braille Lite from Blazie Engineering.
