Re: VMWARE

I'm hoping this is true. I'm going to college in the fall and just bought
a p3 500 with 128mb of ram. Everything is scsi. I have a Dectalk PC.

Currently I'm using a DOS terminal w/the Dectalk and Vocal Eyes, you know
the drill, to access my linux box. I don't really mind this, except that
I'm going to have to use a scanner with Kurzweil Openbook next year to
scan in and read books. Not only have I found no good scanning programs
for the linux console yet, I definitely haven't found anything for linux
that does what Openbook does.

I don't really relish the thought of rebooting my computer repeatedly to
switch OSes, so Vmware would be a cool alternative. I was just hoping
that I could also use it to get that all-too-desired speech for linux.
BTW, how well would Svlpro be for someone in my position? Does it work
well with all linux apps, or does it need to be optomized for each?

Thanks for the help, and feel free to direct me to any written matterial
if my questions are redundant to the list.

K.C.
