Hi all
I have just installed Redhat 6.0 on a PII system. I today have been
trying to install my speech drivers, but with little success. I am
running a Dectalk PC with V4.2B of the firmware installed. I got the
file dectalk_pc-0.95.tgz off the Blinux site, downloaded it onto my Win95
machine and decompressed it. I then made it into a .zip file, as I have
not figured out unix tar. I then used the mtools to move the file from a
floppy to my /home/ryan/dtpc-0.95 dirrectory. While I was at it, I also
moved over the firmware files as it says to in the manual, although as
the manual seems not to care where you put them I put them into the same
directory. I then typed make, and got some kind of error, something like
": required by dtpc.o .stop.get"
As i said I had no speech running, and was using a friend who had other
things on his mind, so that might not be the exact message. What do I
need to do to get this thing up and running as quickly as possible? Is
there an RPM of the dectalk driver, that might make things a whole lot
easier as RPM knows what files it needs and where to put them. Also on a
similar note, is there an RPM of Emacspeak 10.0, if so where can i get
it? I found one for 9.0 but not for 10.0?
Please help.
Ryan
