I understand that one can use both Speakup and Emacspeak on the same
system, however, you need to run Emacspeak using a synthesizer different
from the one used for Speakup. One scenario could be:
Start your system, running Speakup, so you hear all the booting stuff, the
login prompt, etc. Once you've logged in, toggle Speakup's speech off
with kp-insert+k-pad-enter, then start up Emacspeak.
