Braille and Speech in LINUX SDK driver
*******************************************
The ONCE development group has pleasure in telling you that it has been
published at:
<ftp://ftp.once.es/pub/accessibility/OnceLinux/> the SDK for the development
of drivers
in LINUX. This SDK allows the creation of speech synthesis and Braille line
drivers with
LINUX Operating System, implying that different applications can send
information through
these kind of devices.
Besides, at this address you will find several examples of the drivers
developed by ONCE
standing out CIBER 232 P (as speech) and the Braille line ECO 40 / 80 (as
Braille),
there have been also included emulators allowing to simulate in a visual way
(on screen),
what happens and it is sended to the devices mentioned without taking them
into account
physically.
Source files are included, the ones of the library as well as the ones of
the drivers
developed up to now. Likewise, binaries will be obtained in packs for debian
as well as in rpm for some of the drivers. We would advise you to install
from the
source files because of its easiness and the debugging possibility in case
any
bugs take place both in the library and in any of the drivers.
Any bug found or any new driver developed or updated will be welcome,
although before beginning to develop a new driver it is advised to get in
touch
with us just in case that driver is being developed already, or there is any
problem
with it.
With everybody's help we will be able to go on improving our tools. We rely
on all of you.
