Serial console with knoppix?

Anybody know how to get a serial console when booting knoppix? I held the shift key down at boot time and typed:

knoppix console=ttyS0

I know I was getting a boot prompt. Maybe knoppix doesn't have serial console support? This would be a bummer for me.
