OK, Daniel, if alpine is practicly as pine was, here's the line in pine--andhow I have it set to avoid most quoting:

quote-suppression-threshold      = -10

I sure wish I could do that in trn. Anyway that is the highest setting toavoid quoting. Obviously news-groups are about the worst for quoting
