Mmm, I've just checked, and it works for me: I loggued in on /dev/tty1,
ran zhcon, hence getting a shell with zh_CN.gb2312 locale. I then ran
the shm-patched screen, and eventually started
brltty -x sc -c gb2312
and contraction went fine. I also tried big5 and it went fine too.
