Hi Cheryl,

Your mentioning the different screen formatting you've done makes me wonder 
if maybe Google is changing something or other about the screen. Root can do 
this but ordinary users can't.

That's at least a nice convenient way to get rid of a mystery without any 
explanation... :-)
