The corresponding changes to libdevmapper to support this 
are now in CVS and I hope to be able to include them, together 
with this kernel patch, in the next (or next-but-one) tarball.

The patch means LVM2 users will need the updated libdevmapper,
but it is backwards compatible so that a new libdevmapper 
compiled against a kernel tree containing the patch will 
work both with kernels with the patch and kernels without.
