I'll be happy to jump into analyzing the multipath problem if invited.
Meanwhile, I'll just include whatever patches I need in the target
patch so people can test against mainline. There will be several
months of that before we need to worry about stable internal
interfaces. As far as LVM2 goes, you will never need to worry about
the details of the device mapper interface, it's hidden behind user
space utilities.
