New to you maybe. However, it really does happen all the time, not just with
RH lists.
I've even seen replies to MY mail before saw my question.
Think about. Mail arrives in an MTA's queue. If it can't send it immediately
for any reason (maybe desitination doesn't resolve), it sits in the queue for
however much time there is between queue runs.
Another item arrives for the same destination, the blockage has clears and
the mail goes immediately.
Sometimes big items queued longer than smaller ones - forwarding priority is
based on the mail's size.
