Thereby you basically say "postfix is the better program but
you should use sendmail" Sorry, but this doesn´t make sense to
me. What´s your real argument for this point of view? How would
you explain this point of view to an Linux novice?

If there is a better solution we should use it as the default.
This would make life much easier for Linux novices who know
neither sendmail nor postfix and therefore probably would go
with the default MTA. Linux gurus would always be free to
choose sendmail.
