db2, a Q for Red Hatters

This follows from my Squidguard question, principally because it arose whn S 
didn't build on RHL 7.0 or 7.2.

Squidguard uses db2 but I couldn't coax it into building with the db2 on RHL. 
In the interests of getting it done quickly I hied myself off to Sleepycat 
and got the latest from there.

To my surprise, they have 
-rw-rw-r--    1 summer    1112976 Nov  3  1999 db-2.7.7.tar.gz

Not new, but newer than
[enigma numbat enigma]$ rpm -q db2
db2-2.4.14-7
[enigma numbat enigma]$


Why isn't 2.7.7 shipped in RHL?
