I think all it does is make preliminary entries for use in rp3-config,
which is launched from the icon "Dialup Configuration" on the gnome
desktop.
This works for me if I enter my ISP phone num, username, password, in
the wizard, then
launch rp3-config, then click on "Debug", which is not well named.
It will dial-up and if you don't close it (if you close it, it will hang
up)
, you have a connection. I did have to stop networking on my NIC. I can
cardctl eject 0 to do that on my laptop w/PCMCIA NIC. Also, I'm not sure
it can ever get the DNS servers you specify in the advance window. Seems
like /etc/resolv.conf will override at least sometimes.
I don't know if there may be some
config settings in resolv.conf or elsewhere that would allow
rp3-config's
DNS entries to take priority, or to get assignments from the ISP. But,
the connection does work at least w/DNS setting in resolv.conf on my
laptop. I just checked with recently upgraded to rh7.2 2.4.7-10 w/all
updates applied.
