The problem is that in 7.2 as installed the /etc/issue file looks as follows:
Red Hat Linux release 7.2 (Enigma)
Kernel \r on an \m

The second line is not filled in with the kernel id. The reason this happens is that
the code that creates this file is missing in 7.2 from the rc.local file. 
Copying the code from the rc.local of a 7.1 system fixes the problem.

If the rest of you are getting an issue file  that makes sense let me know.
