Ok we can end this line of discussion. The real problem is that RedHat
changed the way the issue file is generated and used. Now the file itself
does not contain the information on the kernel being used but when the
getty processes the issue file it produces a banner with the kernel
information included. It is indeed the banner that is important but when
the method of its generation ans processing is changed without notice
between 7.1 and 7.2 then it causes confusion.
Therefore, I and several other people were confused. I think RedHat
should advertise these changes , they don't agree. They are in charge of
their product so that is the way it is.
