Which cable companies are blocking port 80? I have yet to hear of any cable
companies blocking tcp layer traffic. I have heard them talking about wanting
to do that, but none that I know of have succesfully implimented that yet.
And yes, dyndns is a great option. The default TTL they use for TLD's is 60
seconds, but I usually set it higher. There are many clients you can run to
detect IP changes, though if you set your cable modem or server to auto-renew
your ip, then that is not even an issue, unless they are moving you to a
different laser group or something like that.
