Compressing Log File

Hi all,

	I use RH7.2. I want keep my log file (message , mail ...etc ) by compressing 
them day by day.
	For instance, My mail log file is mail. I want to keep it as following:
		mail_$date.gz
	Can we configure syslog to do this?
