Also, they don't update things just because they are newer, but
because a) serious bugs or b) security issues.
And, their kernels are heavily patched, so that their 2.4.9 might have
the same VM as vanilla 2.4.10 (possibly). So...anyway the rawhide
kernel runs fine here too ( 2.4.16-0.13custom).
